The reference is to what "you," the reader, privately wants. Layne is playing off the perception that so many of the readers of blogs are sick motherf****rs who are so partisan that they would hope for the worst in a situation like this. He's not saying that he wishes Roberts had died, only making an implicit observation that there are bound to be some in the blogosphere who do.
