The LA Daily News has a cover story today about gangs, with a handy map showing where each has its territory in the Valley. My mom lives in an area controlled by Barrio Van Nuys (I always thought that we were a part of Mara Salvatrucha territory, so that may be an indication that the power of the Salvadoreans is slipping), and I used to reside on the outskirts of the Canoga Park Alabama gang.
